Mindfulness & Meditation Groups
My favorite definition of Mindfulness is, "intentional attention with kindness!" What does that mean? As humans our thoughts tell us stories. The stories are real, but they usually aren't true. We tell ourselves we're "ugly", "fat" or "stupid", but is that really true or is it possible our perception is skewed? It's human nature to judge. We judge others and we judge ourselves, but when we stop to observe our thoughts, without judging, we gain perspective and calmness. We feel less overwhelmed. And we can start to change the stories!
Meditation is a form of mindfulness. It helps us learn to observe our thoughts and connect with our creativity. It can help us find solutions to problems, calm us and improve our focus.
Both meditation and mindfulness are great tools to help reduce stress, anxiety, depression, improve health and sleep and even help you lose weight!
